The shortlist

Curated designer-ADU builders, Bay Area

This list is being built one firm at a time, and it will stay short. A builder appears here only after clearing the same published eight-point checklist — and each entry says exactly why it earned the place.

In progress

The census is underway

I am working through Bay Area ADU builders methodically: portfolios first, then process, permits, scope transparency, and review patterns. No firm goes on this list until I can write a specific, defensible sentence about why it belongs.

There are no paid placements. If that ever changes, it will be labelled on the page in a way you cannot miss.

In the meantime, the eight-point checklist is the same standard I am applying — you can run it yourself on any firm you find.
